Moonlight Stage Productions closed their summer season with the Tony Award winning musical, IN THE HEIGHTS. The show takes place over three days and is mostly comprised of people who live in the Dominican-American neighborhood. The ensemble cast of characters live in Washington Heights, New York. Music and lyrics are beautifully crafted by Lin Manuel Miranda who originated the lead role, Usnavi.
Having seen the show four times, I knew what to expect; incredible songs, fun dancing and an all around entertaining show. That was exactly what I got and my family, friends and I had a wonderful night under the stars enjoying the show. Carlos Mendoza did an incredible job with the choreography. It brought the music to life. Many time I found myself and my family humming and dancing along. Samara Otero who played Abuela Claudia was my favorite actress. She was strong and commanded the stage. Her song, “Paciencia Y Fe” was lovely.
IN THE HEIGHTS is running from September 13-30th. For more information take a look at their website: http://www.moonlightstage.com/
