The Grinch at The Old Globe

The Grinch is a nasty creature who hates Christmas and plots to steal it away form the Whos. However, a small child, Cindy Lou Who, tries to save Christmas and befriend the Grinch. This is the 19th year that The Old Globe in Balboa Park has produced “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and hopefully there are many more years to come!

The 80 minute show is perfect for kids and adults. There is music, dancing, humor and holiday cheer. All of the young kids and ensemble members are dressed in fun, whimsical costumes. The set is created to reflect Dr. Seuss’ books; creative, imaginative and exciting. My favorite actor of the show was Robert J. Townsend who play Papa Who. He had a fantastic voice and great stage presence.

After the performance on Sunday November 13th, there was a tree lighting ceremony, snow fall and people got to sing-a-long with the cast to Christmas carols. It was a perfect way to start the holiday season!

Do yourself a favor, get tickets to this adorable show. You won’t regret it!
