There’s no denying Dean Holt and Reed Sigmund are phenomenal actors. In every show I have seen them in at The Children’s Theatre Company, both have been a joy to watch. Their newest production “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” is no exception.
In this show, the premise is simple. A boy (Sigmund) meets a mouse (Holt) who is hungry. Havoc ensues after the boy invites him into his home and gives him a cookie. The entire play is silly and has one goofy scenario after another.
The two actors work so well together, it is a joy to watch. Sigmund plays the boy who is worried about the mess the mouse is creating. Holt gets to let loose and show off his ability to fly around the stage as the peppy mouse. They both are very talented and the kids loved watching them. Throughout the show, the children laughed and had a fabulous time. The duo encounters dust bunnies, paints a picture with food, sets up a cotton ball bed, attempts to clean wearing “scrub brush shoes” and more. All the drama takes place in one room at the boys home.
If you have a young kid, I would recommend this show. My only warning, it is a bit long so just be prepared. For more information check out the CTC website: http://www.childrenstheatre.org/plays/2012-2013-season/if-you-give-a-mouse-a-cookie
