THE 39 STEPS is a play which consists of four actors. One actor plays the hero, an actress plays three women and the other two actors play every other character in the show. THE 39 STEPS has a SPAMALOT feel to it, with a hint of YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN. The play itself is a spy story but is, at it’s core, a comedy filled with allusions and puns about Hitchcock films.
Although the script was not my my favorite genre, the audience ate it up. The rambunctious crowd laughed throughout the show and were amused by all of the characters. It takes a lot of talent to play multiple roles. My hat goes off to the actors who executed their many parts in high fashion.
The show has closed but the Lamb’s Players has many upcoming productions. For a list of their plays check out: http://www.lambsplayers.org/
