Tomorrow I am flying to New York City! Truthfully, I waited until early April because many shows were heading to town that I wanted to see. I’ve already got tickets to “The Last Five Years” and “Macbeth” done solely by Alan Cumming. On my list of others to see are “Matilda” and “Pippin”. Who knows, I may even add another one if I am feeling a bit crazy!
This week I chose to highlight “Magic To Do” from “Pippin”. Recently I’ve enjoyed listening to the soundtrack and watching YouTube clips. Ben Vereen was an amazing “leading player” which Patina Miller is taking over in the current Broadway production. How could the show not be good with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked and Godspell) and choreography by Bob Fosse?
Some of my favorite parts:
- The use of hands and Ben’s opening pose (the picture above).
- Lines- We got foibles and fables to portray, Journey through our anecdotic revue, Sex presented pastorally
Can’t wait to see this live! For now, I hope the video puts a smile on your face.
